catholics on the web
Blessed Is She
The classic Catholic young adult online resource - catch them on Insta but also on their home website. I personally love purchasing hard copies of devotionals from them (Lent and Advent are the main liturgical season ones they have); the devotionals are not intimidating at all, beautifully made, and really take you on a journey throughout those liturgical seasons.
No money? No problem! My main source of BIS content is actually through their daily readings emails, which also contain a reflection by a Catholic woman at the end. Getting them emailed to me helps to keep me accountable for reading, and at the very least reminds me that there is an opportunity to pause for a minute and reflect. Easily subscribe to their daily devotional emails here!
The Catholic Feminist
I really believe this podcast is not just for women, just as being a feminist isn’t women-exclusive. This podcast is just a Catholic girl in conversation with other people about interesting topics. These topics can range from immigration to vocations to the sex abuse crisis to creativity to the rosary to … so many more topics. This podcast is great for commutes, I put it on when going to school or driving home. It gives you more insight on such a range of topics and introduces you to more Catholics just living their lives and doing their part to bring people closer to God. It’s insightful, inspiring, and right there waiting for you to check it out!
The Catholic Woman
This organization continues to grow every day. Originally I knew this website as a very cool source of letters, written by Catholic women for all. Letter topic falls into certain themes: identity, vocation, spirituality, etc, and the writer of the letter varies every time. From a nurse, to a stay at home mother, to an engineer, from topics ranging from the power of storytelling, to growth from a bad relationship, to becoming a messenger of joy - there is so much knowledge and inspiration for every time of situation. The letters here gave me a much better perspective on the universal Church from the perspective of women.
Now they have expanded from just letters to interviews (maybe this was here before and I didn’t notice) and films!!! I am excited to see how they continue to create and share God’s messages.
Abiding Together
This is a podcast between three good friends, two with the vocation of married life and motherhood, and one in religious life as a sister. Listening to this podcast just makes me feel like I am a part of their conversation. It’s not too intimidating or over my head with content, it’s just three women trying to live out their faith and catch up with each other, sometimes with special guests. I enjoy listening to this in the car as a casual podcast that I know I can still grab some good nuggets of inspiration for my faith out of.
Stella Tide
Jewelry! I know this probably isn’t what you’re expecting here, but I really have found that Catholic jewelry can be such a humbling reminder of my faith. Getting compliments on pieces from Catholics & non-Catholics alike, and being able to explain the meaning behind some to people has been a really wonderful experience. This woman is based in Florida and has a bunch of cool Catholic jewelry. I currently have the scapular-style necklace from her and I love it!
Ask Father Josh
I came across Father Josh when people started recommending to me his Rosary for Racial Repentance and Rosary for Racial Reconciliation which are both so powerful to pray. Since then, his podcasts have been insightful and down to earth. He really takes the time to go in detail answering people’s questions from a wide range of topics. Something I respect about Father Josh is his acknowledgement that he might be wrong, and his openness to conversation and feedback, which I think is key to a credible person - someone who is humble and is always still learning.
